GrantCare adopted in 3 States to manage ERAP

Through the Federal Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021, allocated $25 Billion to US State Counties and Cities to establish a local Emergency Rental Assistance Program supporting individuals and families who have lost their jobs or have had a significant reduction in income due to COVID and as a result are unable to pay rent and utilities due to the COVID pandemic.

​

The program will provide emergency rental assistance for eligible households experiencing a loss of income directly related to COVID, who were current with rent payments prior to March 2020 with incomes at or below 80 percent Area Median Income (AMI) and who are otherwise in good financial standing.

​

The goal of the program is to prevent evictions and maintain housing stability of residents by efficiently and accurately collecting and vetting rental assistance applications to evaluate eligibility and process rent payments. 

​

Assistance under this program will provide direct financial assistance, including rent and rent arrears, paid directly to the property owner or property management company.
